Coral – Bet £5 get £20 in free bets
One of the easiest Matched Betting offers to get started with is Coral. They’re an English bookmaker (you’ve probably seen many of their shops around the country), and they offer a £20 free bet for new online customers. To qualify for that bet, you only need to deposit and bet through £5.
You also need to open a Betfair account to lay off your bets. If you already have a Betfair account, you can login and use that instead.
You need BOTH accounts. Once they’re ready, make a deposit of £5 into Coral. (Note: if you cannot see the Betfair link above, please disable your adblocker or click to open your account).
We need to place a £5 bet with Coral in order to qualify for our free bet. We’re going to place a £5 back bet with Coral, and then place a corresponding lay bet with Betfair.
First, we need to find something to bet on. The odds for the back bet must be 1.5 or above.
NOTE – Your Coral odds may be appearing in fractional format. You can change this to decimal format in your account settings.
Once you’ve chosen what to bet on and checked that the odds are correct, use the calculator at the top of this page to work out your bets.
Select “Normal” at the top.
The bookmaker stake is £5.
Enter the Coral back odds.
Enter the Betfair lay odds.
The lay commission is 5%.
The calculator will show you your stake and your liability. The “liability” is the amount you need to deposit into Betfair (but the lay amount is what you’ll type into the stake box). Deposit the required amount. Then place your £5 Coral bet, and then your exchange lay bet. Don’t worry about liability for now, it’s all covered by your back bet.
Coral will credit your £20 free bet immediately after placing your qualifying bet. If they don’t, load up live chat and ask for it. The bet will be credited as four separate £5 free bets.
We now repeat the same process again: find a good bet for your free bet. Now, for free bets, it’s a good idea to use higher odds in order to maximise the profit. I would advise you to look for something with odds above 4.0. However, remember that the higher odds you use, the more liability you will need in the exchange, but the more money you will make.
Use the calculator to work out your bets.
Select “Free Bet (SNR)” at the top.
The bookmaker stake is £20.
Enter the Coral back odds.
Enter the exchange lay odds.
Enter the exchange commission.
Press enter on your keyboard.
Make sure you have enough money in the exchange to cover the liability of this bet. If you don’t, either deposit more or look for something at lower odds. You now need to place your Coral free back bet. Since Coral have credited your £20 free bet as four separate £5 bets, you would need to place four £5 bets with Coral, all on the same thing, selecting your free bet each time. Once you’ve placed the full £20, you can then place your exchange lay bet.
Once these bets are placed and confirmed, you simply wait for the matches to play out. Once these bets have settled, you should have made around £16 profit.
You can immediately withdraw your money from Coral once the bets have settled. If you can’t figure out how to do this, load up their live chat or give them a call (though it is fairly straightforward).
If you’re still not entirely sure how this works, here’s an example with actual figures:
I deposit £5 into Coral.
This is a bet on the Nacional v Moreirense game. The bet is on the team “Nacional”, with back odds of 2 and lay odds of 1.97. I then enter the information into the calculator:
This tells me that I will need £5.05 in Betfair to cover this bet. So I deposit that amount into Betfair.
I then find the correct game (Nacional vs Moreirense) and make sure that the odds are the same as they were on the oddsmatching software. Check the odds on Coral and Betfair before placing any bets. If the odds have changed, updated the calculator with the new figures.
Once I’m happy they’re both correct, I place my Coral £5 back bet on Nacional. I also place my Betfair lay bet of £5.21 (as per calculator’s instructions) on Nacional.
Those bets are now both placed. I now double check to make sure they are definitely placed correctly. Remember, both bets should be placed on the same team (one back, one lay).
Coral will credit the free bet instantly. I then open up the oddsmatching software and find this bet:
This is a bet on the Cardiff v Huddersfield game. The bet is on the team “Huddersfield”, with back odds of 5.5 and lay odds of 5.5. I then enter the information into the calculator:
I then enter the information into the calculator (making sure to select “Free Bet SNR” at the top):
This tells me that I will need another £74.30 in Betfair to cover this bet. If I couldn’t afford this, I would look for something with lower odds. As it happens, I can afford it, so I deposit this £74.30 into Betfair.
I then find the correct game (Cardiff vs Huddersfield). I check the odds for Huddersfield on both websites and make sure they are correct. If they are, I can then submit my Coral £20 free bet. Make sure to select the free bet from the drop down menu. After that, I can then place and confirm my Betfair lay bet of £16.51.
The free bet makes a guaranteed profit of £15.68. I lost £0.05 from the qualifier, so my total profit is £15.63.
Read through this example several times to make sure all the numbers make sense. Take a look at the screenshots to figure it out.
When you’re ready, head back to your Offers page and move on to the Betfred offer.
